AI Agent Privacy
What happens to your data when you use the AI agent side bar. What Claude Code can send to Anthropic, what iLogic Code does and stores itself, and how to control it.
This page adds to the Privacy Policy for the AI Agent side bar. In short: iLogic Code sends nothing to Anthropic. The side bar runs Claude Code, Anthropic's coding agent, which you install and sign in to yourself. What Claude Code sends to Anthropic during a session is between you (or your organization) and Anthropic, under your own Claude account and Anthropic's terms.
Last updated: October 2026.
Rule code, parameter values, iProperties and document names can be confidential, for example your employer's designs. Check your company's policy on AI tools before you start a Claude Code session on company documents.
Who does what
- iLogic Code hosts Claude Code in a terminal, prepares its working folder, and answers its tool calls from inside Inventor. It runs on your machine and does not send session content anywhere.
- Claude Code is Anthropic's software, installed by you and signed in with your own Claude account. It sends your conversation to Anthropic to get the model's answers.
- Anthropic processes what Claude Code sends under your agreement with Anthropic: the Consumer Terms (Free, Pro and Max plans) or the Commercial Terms (Team, Enterprise and API), and its Privacy Policy. Anthropic does not process this data on our behalf, and we have no access to your sessions.
When data leaves your machine
Nothing reaches Anthropic until you start a Claude Code session. Opening the side bar only asks each installed Claude Code for its version (claude --version), and the one sessions use for its sign-in state (claude auth status). iLogic Code shows the answer, including your plan and email, in the panel and in Settings, and neither stores nor sends it.
PowerShell sessions are a plain local shell. They send nothing anywhere unless you run a command that does.
Install Claude Code runs Anthropic's official installer (irm https://claude.ai/install.ps1 | iex) visibly in a terminal; it downloads Claude Code from Anthropic. Update runs the update for how Claude Code was installed (claude update, winget upgrade or npm install -g) visibly in a terminal; it downloads the new version from Anthropic, WinGet or npm. iLogic Code doesn't look for new versions on its own. Sign in starts Claude Code's own browser login. iLogic Code never sees your credentials; Claude Code stores them in your user profile.
What a Claude Code session can send to Anthropic
Claude Code sends your prompts and the model's answers, together with everything the agent reads or receives while it works. In an iLogic Code session that can include:
- Your prompts, including the references the editor pastes for you (Send selection, Ask agent, Open agent for this rule). A hand-off only pastes; nothing is sent until you press Enter.
- The agent folder: the document's rules as
.vbfiles, andAGENTS.md, which names the document, your Inventor version, your external rule folders and your own instructions. - External rule folders on local drives, which are added to the session so the agent can read them.
- Results of iLogic Code's tools when the agent calls them: rule code and compiler messages, rule runs with their outcome and log lines, parameters (names, expressions and values), iProperties, the model browser tree, the open documents with their names and paths, the active document's path, the rule, selection and errors you have in the editor, your rule templates, iLogic snippets, and pages of the Inventor API reference.
- Anything else the agent reads or runs with Claude Code's own tools (files, shell commands, web pages), within the permissions you give it.
iProperties and file paths can hold personal data, such as the author or designer of a part, or a user name in a folder path.
Claude Code also sends its own operational telemetry and error reports. Anthropic states that its usage metrics never include your code, prompts or file paths. See Claude Code data usage for what it sends and how to turn it off.
How Anthropic uses it
That depends on your Claude plan:
- Free, Pro and Max (consumer terms): you choose in Claude's privacy settings whether Anthropic may use your sessions to improve its models. That choice also decides how long Anthropic keeps them.
- Team, Enterprise and API (commercial terms): Anthropic does not train its models on your Claude Code sessions, unless your organization chose to share data for model improvement.
Feedback you send with Claude Code's /feedback command includes your conversation. For retention periods and the full details, see Claude Code data usage and Anthropic's Privacy Center.
What iLogic Code itself does
- Sends nothing to Anthropic, and does not record what you type into a session or what the agent answers. Terminal output goes straight to the panel and is not logged.
- Runs its tools on your machine only. The tool server listens on
127.0.0.1(not reachable from other computers), on a random port, and needs an access token that is new at every Inventor start. Claude Code finds the address and the token in the agent folder's.ilogiccode\mcp.json. - Looks up the Inventor API itself. The
inventor_api_docstool is fetched by iLogic Code from inventor.autodeskapi.dev. The request carries the lookup the agent chose (an API name such asComponentOccurrence.Grounded, or search words) and your Inventor version, never rule code or account information. Like any web request, it shows the site your IP address. - Records anonymous usage telemetry only if you opted in (see the Privacy Policy): that a session started (Claude Code, PowerShell, the installer or an update; new or resumed), that you accepted or reverted an agent's change, where a hand-off came from (selection, tab, sidebar, drag and drop, error or log), and the new value when you change an agent setting set with a list or a switch (permission mode, whether the agent may run rules, start-up animation). Never your prompts, the agent's output, rule code, paths, your Claude account, plan or email, the free-text settings (Claude Code path, extra arguments), or your instructions.
What stays on your machine
| Where | What | How to remove it |
|---|---|---|
%LOCALAPPDATA%\ExtrabbitCode.iLogicCode\agent\<document>-<id>\ | One folder per document: copies of its rules as plain-text .vb files, AGENTS.md, and .ilogiccode\ (sync state, and the tool server's address and token for the current Inventor session) | Delete the folder while no session runs. The next session for that document creates it again. |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\ExtrabbitCode.iLogicCode\settings.json (agentPanel) | The sessions offered for resuming after a restart: profile, document name, folder, and when the session ended | Close the session tab, or Dismiss its card after a restart |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\ExtrabbitCode.iLogicCode\agent-instructions.md | Your own instructions for every session, as you wrote them | Delete the file |
%LOCALAPPDATA%\ExtrabbitCode.iLogicCode\recovered\ | The text of rules the agent deleted with delete_rule | Delete the files |
%USERPROFILE%\.claude\ (Claude Code's own) | Claude Code's sign-in and settings, and plain-text transcripts of your sessions in projects\, which contain the rule code and tool results. Claude Code deletes transcripts after 30 days by default (cleanupPeriodDays) | Managed by Claude Code; see Claude Code's application data |
See Files & Logs for the rest of iLogic Code's files.
Your choices
- Don't start a Claude Code session. Without one, nothing reaches Anthropic.
- Decide what the agent may do in Settings → AI Agents: Claude Code's permission mode, and whether the agent may run rules.
- Control Anthropic's use of your data in Claude's privacy settings, or through your organization's Claude plan.
- Turn off Claude Code's own telemetry with
DISABLE_TELEMETRY=1,DISABLE_ERROR_REPORTING=1orCLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_NONESSENTIAL_TRAFFIC=1in theenvblock of Claude Code's settings (%USERPROFILE%\.claude\settings.json). - Remove the local data listed above, and uninstall Claude Code separately when you no longer use it.
