Extrabbitcode iLogic Code

Privacy Policy

What data the add-in collects, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and how to opt out or request deletion.

Extrabbitcode iLogic Code ("the add-in") is an Autodesk Inventor add-in published by Tobias Wiesendanger ("we", "the publisher"). This policy explains what data the add-in collects, how and why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the choices you have.

The add-in collects only anonymous usage telemetry, and only if you opt in. It never collects personal information, file names, or the contents of your Inventor models. Telemetry is off until you enable it and can be turned off again at any time in Settings → Privacy.

1. What we collect, how, and why

When — and only when — telemetry is enabled, the add-in records anonymous product-usage events. The data is collected by the PostHog analytics SDK running in the add-in's host process and sent over HTTPS to PostHog's EU region.

Data collectedWhy
Feature usage — which features are used and how often (e.g. running, saving, creating, or formatting a rule; creating a template; inserting a snippet; splitting the editor; switching the sidebar; exporting a log or your settings)Understand which features matter and prioritize improvements
Workflow outcomes — whether an action succeeded or failed (e.g. a rule run)Find and fix friction
Configuration — which toggle and dropdown settings you change, and their new values (e.g. theme, open-rules mode, minimap on/off). Free-text settings such as folder paths and file names are never sentUnderstand how the add-in is configured
Environment — Inventor version and add-in versionPrioritize compatibility and testing
Session lifecycle — add-in activated / deactivatedMeasure active usage
Approximate location — country and region, derived from your IP address at the time of the eventUnderstand the geographic distribution of users

Every event carries a randomly generated anonymous ID that is created on first run and stored locally on your machine (in settings.json, see Files & Logs). It contains no personal information and cannot be used to identify you.

What we never collect

  • Your name, email, or any account information
  • File names, paths, or document contents
  • Rule names or the source code of your iLogic rules, or any data from your Inventor models
  • Your exact IP address (used only transiently to resolve an approximate location; it is not stored)

2. Third parties

Telemetry is processed by PostHog (EU region), our analytics provider, acting as a data processor on our behalf. PostHog is contractually required to protect this data to at least the same standard described in this policy and may not use it for its own purposes. We do not sell the data or share it with advertising networks or any other third party. PostHog's own privacy policy is available at posthog.com/privacy.

3. Data retention and deletion

Anonymous telemetry events are retained in PostHog for up to 12 months, after which they are automatically deleted. If telemetry is disabled, no data is sent or stored at all.

4. Your choices

Revoke consent / opt out — open the add-in and go to Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage data and turn it off. No further data is sent from that point on.

Reset your anonymous ID — the ID is stored as telemetry.id in %LOCALAPPDATA%\ExtrabbitCode.Inventor.iLogicCode\settings.json. Remove that value (or delete the file, which resets all editor settings) and a new random ID is generated on next run.

Request deletion of collected data — because the data is anonymous and tied only to a random local ID, we cannot identify your events from your name or email. To have previously collected events deleted, email extrabbitcode@gmail.com with the telemetry.id value found in %LOCALAPPDATA%\ExtrabbitCode.Inventor.iLogicCode\settings.json, and we will delete the events associated with that ID.
